China-EU High Level People-to-People Dialogue

Both China and the EU share a strong conviction of the importance of culture in external relations. People-to-people contacts are playing an increasingly prominent role in China-EU relations in the field of culture, as well as in education, multilingualism, youth and gender equality. To include regular policy dialogue at government level, as well as joint projects and events, the China-EU High Level People-to-People Dialogue was launched in 2012.

Cooperation between the Ministry of Culture of the PRC and the EU

The first Atelier for Young Festival and Cultural Managers is an example of a concrete project fostering people to people dialogue in the framework of  China-EU High Level People-to-People Dialogue between the People’s Republic of China and the European Commission. The result of this cooperation is implemented by The Festival Academy, in cooperation with the Center for China Shanghai International Arts Festival.

Through the China-EU High Level People-to-People Dialogue more and more unique and innovative co-operations are being developed between East and West, and The Festival Academy is proud to benefit from this fruitful engagement and to develop the first Atelier for Young Festival and Cultural Managers together with the European Commission and their Chinese partners. Besides the host of this Atelier, the China Shanghai International Arts Festival, we could count on the trust of the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China. Their support enabled the organisation of this event and the ministry sponsored top-level Chinese festival and cultural managers, to take part in this training. Together we worked toward shared goals of profound cultural exchange and strong cultural liasions created to last. The Festival Academy and EFA have the ambition to continue this collaboration in the next years.
