Programme

Up to 25 Greek Festival Managers will have the opportunity during the 3 days training to exchange, discuss and engage with festivals directors, artists, other participants, focussing on the region, and the topics and challenges that the participants encounter.

Introduction

The programme focused on topics and issues raised by the participants which are further developed during the Atelier: with panel discussions guided by renowned festival leaders from across the globe, in small working groups, thematic lunches, cross-discipline round tables and plenary sessions. There was plenty of time and space for more informal one-to-one talks during meals and cultural visits as the sharing of experiences and networking on an equal footing are key to the Atelier.

Participants had the chance to compare their views with colleagues from various cultural and professional contexts and backgrounds, and analyse them in view of the Eleusis 2021 artistic programme. What about the relationship between traditional and contemporary art? To what extend does this reflect in festival management concepts? To what extent do political, social and technological developments have an influence on artistic programming? How to reach (out to) the community where the festival takes place? How to develop a sustainable context for festivals, artists and audience? What are the festivals’ responsibilities towards the local community?
