New year, new projects: introducing Digital (R)evolution Communication and New Technologies Training, the new training format of The Festival Academy

The Festival Academy welcomes the new decade with the pilot programme Digital (R)evolution: Communication and New Technologies Training, which will take place next week in Antwerp (BE) from 22-25 January 2020, organised in partnership with deSingel, one of the most prestigious multidisciplinary arts centres in Belgium.

This 4-day long training programme will bring together 12 festival managers from across the globe to critically reflect on the subject of digitalisation and the use of new technologies in the festivals’ field. The arts are part of the digital revolution and there is a need to investigate what this rapidly changing evolution mean for the arts world and for a festivals’ artistic offer. The training will be facilitated by Mike van Graan, Founding President African Cultural Policy Network - South Africa & Programme developer for The Festival Academy.

This new format builds on TFA’s experience with its other programmes and allows specifically to focus more in depth on the possibilities of Digital and new technologies related to arts and festivals. Rather than a conventional training, the purpose is to work with participants as well as experts towards a concrete toolkit on Digital and Festivals based on shared knowledge between cultural managers, peers and colleagues representing an extraordinary range in terms of cultural, professional and geographical background.

Learning, practicing and being inspired are the keywords!
