The 15th edition of the Festival Academy’s Atelier for Young Festival Managers, will take place from 23 - 29 March 2019 in Valletta, Malta, organised in partnership with Festivals Malta. Up to 34 selected applicants will attend the 7-day training programme during which they will discuss various aspects of festival management with renowned festival managers from pioneering festivals and outstanding art centres and institutes from all over the world.

Introduction

Up to 34 selected applicants from 20 different countries will participate in the 7-day training programme during which they will discuss various aspects of festival management with renowned festival managers from pioneering festivals and outstanding art centres and institutes from all over the world. 

During the 7 days of the training, under the facilitation Mika Van Graan, our most-established mentors Robyn Archer, Luiz Coradazzi, Faisal Kiwewa, Roy Luxford and Brett Pyper will be present to guide the participants and engage in the global conversation about today's challenges for festival makers. 

They will be joined by our Keynote Speaker Shahidul Alam, and two international and many local guest speakers through out the atelier.

The Atelier Johannesburg was organised in partnership with the Market Theatre Foundation and the University of Witwatersrand’s School of Arts.

25 selected participants from 13 different countries participated in this 7-day training programme during which they discussed various aspects of festival management with their peers and renowned festival managers from pioneering festivals and outstanding art centres and institutes from all over the world. The key issues of each atelier were identified by the issues that the participants were occupied with.
