The Festival Academy (initiative of the European Festivals Association - EFA), will soon open its call for application for the 16th edition of the Atelier for Young Festival Managers, to take place from 13-19 November 2019 in the Eurometropolis region (Kortrijk / Valenciennes - BE/ FR), organised in partnership with NEXT Festival.
At the heart of the Atelier: the sharing of experience and enabling a global conversation.
The Atelier offers the opportunity to up to 35 passionate festival makers of all artistic disciplines, coming from all over the word to spend 7 days together with a group of young and experienced festival leaders, cultural activists and artists in the Eurometropolis region of Lille-Kortrijk-Tournai and Valenciennes (BE/FR) - during the international NEXT Festival - to have a global conversation about today’s challenges and the role art and culture can play in these.
The Atelier is about: gaining new perspectives, exploring the
essence of the why and how of (your) festivals in a global context, share and
exchange experiences and reflect on the topics that concern you. Mentors and
guest speakers share their rich experience and answer participants’ questions
along the way, passing on knowledge to the next generation of festival makers.
During the Atelier participants have the chance to attend performances at NEXT Festival, meet artists and their entourage and discover the identity and the behind the scenes of this cross-border festival.

Young festival managers from across the globe are invited to apply here by 31 January 2019.
